She's the real Jewel in the Palace.
When someone mentions South Korean actressLee Young Ae, the first thing that comes to mind would definitely be Dae Jang Geum, the royal chef-turned-physician she played in classic 2003 K-dramaJewel In The Palace.
Last year, the production company of Jewel In The Palace — the story about thefirst female royal physician in Korean history — announced they would be filming a sequel for the drama.
The new series (working title:Medic Dae Jang Geum)is slated to air next year. Young Ae will be reprising her role as well.
Though the drama will only start filming in October, the 53-year-old actress recently took to Instagram to give everyone a sneak peek.
In the photos, which were taken on the set of a shoot for Korean skincare brand The Soo Official, Young Ae was dressed in the traditional Korean hanbok, very much like the one she wore in the series.
What was most mind-boggling was howYoung Ae looks almost exactly the same as she did back then.
Netizensalso didn't hesitate to shower the actress with compliments.
"How can you look the same as 20 years ago!!!! Still beautiful as always," gushed one netizen.
South Korean actressOh Yoon-ah also couldn't help but effuse: "Wow! Sister, how do you always look so pretty?"
